Lauren aims to dance into his­tory

PARALYMPIAN Lauren Stead­man hopes to be the first dis­abled dancer in the Strictly fi­nal.

The swim­mer-turned par atria th le te ,25, says: “I’m so proud to have made it to the semi­fi­nal. The com­peti­tor in me al­ways wanted to make it as far as I pos­si­bly could.

“Nor­mal­is­ing dis­abil­i­ties was one of the rea­sons I wanted to do the show and I hope that I’ve helped in some way to achieve that. It’s been such an in­cred­i­ble jour­ney. To make the fi­nals would be the ic­ing on the cake.”

Dance part­ner AJ Pritchard, 24, added: “Lauren’s mes­sage is an im­por­tant one, ‘Don’t let any­thing hold you back’.”
