71 years’ jail for £2mil­lion car raid gang

A GANG that con­spired to steal £2mil­lion of sports cars, guns, cash and jew­ellery has been jailed for a to­tal of 71 years.

The crooks struck more than 200 times in Nor­folk, Suf­folk, Es­sex, Bed­ford­shire and Cam­bridgeshire.

The cars they con­spired to steal were used in fur­ther raids and sold.

One Audi re­cov­ered by po­lice had in it booty from eight bur­glar­ies, a gun and seven stolen pup­pies.

Nine gang mem­bers, in­clud­ing John Eli Loveridge, 42, of Car­leton Rode, Nor­folk, ad­mit­ted con­spir­acy to com­mit bur­glary and were jailed for be­tween four and nine years at Nor­wich crown court.

A tenth, Si­mon Oak­ley, 45, of Hemp­nall, was found guilty of con­spir­acy to bur­gle and got nine years.
