71 years’ jail for £2million car raid gang

A GANG that conspired to steal £2million of sports cars, guns, cash and jewellery has been jailed for a total of 71 years.

The crooks struck more than 200 times in Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Bedfordshi­re and Cambridges­hire.

The cars they conspired to steal were used in further raids and sold.

One Audi recovered by police had in it booty from eight burglaries, a gun and seven stolen puppies.

Nine gang members, including John Eli Loveridge, 42, of Carleton Rode, Norfolk, admitted conspiracy to commit burglary and were jailed for between four and nine years at Norwich crown court.

A tenth, Simon Oakley, 45, of Hempnall, was found guilty of conspiracy to burgle and got nine years.
