Scramble for £8k gold egg
ONE of 12 gold eggs made by Cadbury for a nationwide treasure hunt has sold for over £8,000.
Certificates entitling the finder to one of the 22ct eggs were buried at secret sites in 1983 and cryptic clues were published leading to their locations.
But only half were found before the hunt was abandoned amid complaints of private sites being dug up.
Dr Chris Pinder, 75, sold one he and his family found in Dorset. Deborah Doyle, of Duke’s auctioneers in Dorchester, said: “It’s an incredible story.”
