WAT A WAY FOR JAVI TO HAVE PAYBACK

- Everton Watford

JAVI GRACIA insists he is not worried about

Watford’s form just yet.

After a blistering start to the season, the Hornets have won just two of their last 11 league games and are winless in five.

Ending their run against former boss Marco Silva at Everton on Monday would be especially sweet for Watford.

Silva (below) was sacked by the Hornets last season following an “unwanted approach” by the Blues, leading to bad blood between the two clubs. Gracia said: “We are doing a lot of things well.

“I am not worried about the last games. “We were not able to get some points but we are close to improving the results.

“The players have confidence in the way we are playing, the way we are working but knowing we need to improve something to get better results.

“We have created chances – maybe the last one, against Manchester City, was difficult but in all the games we have played we were close to winning or getting results.”

Meanwhile, Gretar Steinsson has been appointed Everton’s chief European scout.

The 36-year-old joins Goodison after working for nearly four years with Fleetwood Town, where he was appointed technical director in January 2015.

He will work closely with director of football Marcel Brands and Martyn Glover, the club’s chief UK scout.

Steinsson played 126 matches in the English top flight during four-and-a-half years with Bolton Wanderers.
