WITH plans now mooted for promotion and relegation between the First and Intermediate B the spotlight is on the handful of teams at the wrong end of the division.

On Saturday bottom pair Broomhedge Maghaberry and Camlough Rovers fought at a 1-1 draw, a result that brought a first point for the South Armagh side’s new boss Paul Caldwell, who would welcome the proposed change by the Mid-ulster.

He said: “The suggestion of promotion and relegation is to be welcomed and I’m all for it.

“From our perspective it doesn’t change anything, our long-term aim is to get HAT-TRICKS from Adam Neale and Jack Sharvin in their 6-1 trouncing of Lisburn Rangers kept 1A leaders Killyleagh to the fore for their promotion focused manager.

“We’ve been concentrating on the league this season, I said that at the start of the season before we even kicked a ball,” said Killyleagh boss Paul Sharvin. However, with back into Intermediate A. The possibility of promotion and relegation should focus attention on the importance of every single game.

“The club remains ambitious and everyone is working hard as one unit to get back into the top flight as soon as possible.” their next game being a visit to Dennis Harvey Park to face second-placed Larne Tech, Sharvin played down the importance of that game.

“Larne are big favourites for me,” added Sharvin.

“It will be a good game but it doesn’t make or break our season. There are five teams who can go up – Sirocco, Orangefield, Abbey Villa, us and Larne.”
