the teams directly above them in the standings.

Next for Rovers comes a visit to a Markethill Swifts side firmly in the mix for promotion to the top flight.

And Caldwell (left) hailed the quality of the teams his young guns are coming up against every weekend. “Intermediate B is as strong as it has been in years,” he contended. “None of our squad has ever played Intermediate football before so they’re learning all the time.

“We’re coming into the second half of our season now and I can see them improving every week.

“We need to scrap for every single ball and continue to learn from our mistakes.

“If we do that and stick together then we can get some more positive results over the coming weeks and months.

“We have a squad of 18 or 19 lads with tremendous attitudes and they’re all battling for places.

“It’s getting harder and harder for me to pick the team on a Saturday but that’s the kind of problem I want.” He added: “Saturday was very frustrating with the way Broomhedge got their equaliser so late in the game.

“But in the grand scheme of things, there were so many positives to take away again.

“We created a lot of brilliant chances but just couldn’t finish them off.

“It was the same when Tullyvallen beat us 4-3, we played so well.

“The average age of our team on Saturday was about 19 and they will learn from that draw.

“It’s a positive sign that we’re so disappointed after two games like that so we’re definitely going in the right direction.”
