FURY OVER ‘DONUT’ STUNT AT CRASH VICTIM’S FUNERAL

Police probe incident outside chapel

- BY SHAUNA CORR

MOURNERS at the funeral of a man killed in a crash that claimed three lives were left “shocked” by cars doing donuts outside the church.

Mid Ulster MP Francie Molloy said many who had gathered to pay their respects were insultedl.

The incident is understood to have taken place outside St Patrick’s Church in Dungannon after the 10am Requiem Mass for 21-year-old Alaedin (Alinko) Fejzula yesterday.

Alaedin and pal Patrick Kemenczei were killed in a three-vehicle smash that involved seven people on the Dungannon Road, Moy, Co Tyrone, last Sunday. They were travelling in a silver Skoda Octavia that collided with a grey Toyota and black Volvo at around 1.40pm just outside the village.

A woman who was critically injured in the smash died from her injuries in hospital two days later.

Sinn Fein’s Mr Molloy said: “People were shocked at the behaviour outside the chapel. They were doing wheelies round and round at the chapel gates and had closed off all three roads.

“People at the funeral were shocked at this behaviour. It is a scandal to use a situation like this and I think it’s something that needs to be addressed.”

Mr Molloy said people in hi-vis vests stood at the junctions to Killyman, Circular and Northland roads while cars drifted in the small area for around 10 minutes before a police car arrived. A PSNI spokesman said: “Police are aware of reports of anti-social driving in the vicinity of St Patrick’s Church, Dungannon this morning.

“Police enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
