Warning after huge rock fall at TV beach
A BEACH made famous by the popular ITV police drama Broadchurch has been closed after 1,000 tons of rock fell from a cliff.
The public were warned to stay away after the huge slip was spotted on a live council video stream.
A coastal path was closed and a search and rescue operation began at West Bay beach in Dorset.
Chief Insp Lance Cliff, of Dorset Police, said: “At this stage it is not believed anyone is trapped.”
Dorset council said there were “dangerous overhangs” from the cliff.
“The public are advised to stay away,” it added.
Photographer Neil Barnes tweeted: “All happening in West Bay today with a huge rock fall ... after Storm Gareth.”
