Cut-price Toby has Reds alert
SPURS are resigned to losing Toby Alderweireld to Manchester United in the summer for just £26million.
United’s rebuilding programme is set to start with a swoop for the Belgium defender, who has so far refused to sign a new deal at White Hart Lane.
His contract was up at the end of this season, but Spurs activated a clause which extended it by 12 months on condition the centre-back can leave for £26m if a bid comes during the final two weeks of this summer’s transfer window.
United are set to push their way to the front of the queue for 30-year-old, with Juventus and Barcelona also keen.
Spurs will have no option but to sell with just a year remaining of Alderweireld’s deal.
United are set to listen to offers for Eric Bailly, bought by Jose Mourinho in 2016.
Spurs have confirmed that a number of former players will take part in a test event on March 30 as part of the preparations to move into their £1billion new stadium.
Robbie Keane, Rafael van der Vaart, Dimitar Berbatov and Darren Anderton are set to line up in a side to be managed by Gary Mabbutt.
