BRILLIANT TIGER UP FOUR IT
TIGER ROLL put a remarkable fourth Festival success on his CV with a 22-length stroll.
The 2014 Triumph Hurdle, 2017 National Hunt Chase and 2018 Glenfarclas Chase hero’s win — he also captured last year’s Grand National — was just what Gordon Elliott needed.
The Co Meath trainer, landing his first victory of the meeting — Apple’s Jade, Battleoverdoyen, Delta Work, Hardline were all beaten favourites over the first two days — said: “He got us out of trouble.”
The nine-year-old (above) is now the 6-1 favourite to become the first back-to-back National winner since Red Rum in 1974, but owner Michael O’leary warned: “It’s not certain he will run.”
