WILLIAM HENRY showed the benefit of breathing surgery with a last-gasp victory at 28-1.

The Nicky Henderson trainee went under the knife after pulling up at Wincanton on Boxing Day — and the result was to overhaul fellow 28-1 chance Wicklow Brave by a shorthead.

“William Henry found an awful lot — that wind op helped him — and to come here and do that was some performance,” said winning jockey Nico de Boinville.

“He was making it up quick enough to get there, but it was just where the line was going to be,” added Henderson.
