WHY DO I KEEP MEETING SUCH AWFUL MEN?

-

Dear Coleen

I’m a 28-year-old single woman and I really want to find a good man to have a relationship with, but I’m getting tired of meeting losers online.

A couple of weeks ago I had the best date I’d ever had – everything was perfect. The guy was handsome, clever, funny and seemed genuinely interested in me. He also asked for another date.

However, since then he hasn’t responded to any of my messages – he’s basically ghosted me. I’m confused and keep thinking I must be this toxic person.

Please give me some advice!

I know online dating is popular and I even know a couple who’ve ended up getting married. But I also know a lot of single people who go on date after date and it turns into a treadmill of disappointment.

Perhaps you need to step away from your dating apps and try getting out there and meeting people face to face. An online profile is always missing the key ingredient and that’s chemistry from the word go.

A computer-generated matching system can only do so much and it’s also dependent on people being completely honest about themselves in their profile.

Don’t beat yourself up over this guy ghosting you and try not to take it personally. There’s nothing toxic about you, you just haven’t met someone you connect with in real life.

It’s tough when you’re looking hard to find someone because your expectations are through the roof. So take a breather from the computer and just socialise.
