takes to go all the way. And I have to say I see something special in this group we have at Windmill this season. Something is happening.

“We have a nice blend of talented young fellas and experienced lads and we’ve also added a bit of height and physicality which I think you need in this league. And we have strength in depth and a good squad which is what you need to be successful.

“Coming into the season I thought we had a really good chance of silverware and that has to be the aim for the club because it’s been too long. “It feels like we’re due one.

“We’re right there in the mix for the league and still going in the

Intermediate Cup and Marshall Cup and with a Premier Cup semi-final at home to come as well.”

The Intermediate committee last night decided that Windmill will play their second round tie against St James’ Swifts this Saturday.

Last weekend’s first attempt was abandoned after Swifts player Marty

Murray suffered a leg break to bring a premature end to one of the most hotly-anticipated ties of the day with an hour played.

Stars had led the game by two goals to one at the time of the injury and Mccrink (right) believes his muchchanged team were on track for a big win.

“It was very frustrating,” he conceded. “We had 10 first team players missing so I was a bit nervous going into the game because they’re such a good side.

“But our boys were terrific and, being honest, I thought we had them.

“Some things are more important than football, though, and we wish the lad well and hope he makes a quick recovery.”
