Building firm scoops major business gong

Henry Brothers toasts success

Henry Brothers is celebratin­g after winning the Family Business of the Year award at the British Chambers of Commerce’s annual Chamber Business Awards.

After winning the Northern Ireland heat, the Magherafel­t constructi­on firm went on to collect the national award in London.

The judging panel praised the firm for its impressive turnover and profit over the last three years, while staying true to the values that Jim Henry founded the company on in 1976.

Financial services firm Fintru was also recognised as Highly Commended in the Employer of the Year category.

Other local companies lauded on the night included Fathom, Nitec Solutions Ltd, Musgrave Northern Ireland, Ryobi Aluminium Casting, Farrans Constructi­on and Christies Direct, each of whom was declared a category winner in the local heat of the national awards.

DAVID Watson, Managing Director of Ryobi Aluminium Casting (UK) Ltd has received an Honorary Fellowship from Northern Regional College.

He is one of four people to receive the honour who have had an impact upon the college and the local community.

A chartered engineer, Fellow of the Institute of Engineerin­g Technology and a Fellow of the Institute of Cast Metal Engineers, Mr Watson honed his reputation with General Motors, Takata’s European Components Corporatio­n, Magna-donnelly and Wrightbus.

TILE maker Armatile has announced plans to create 20 new jobs and invest £3million in a new luxury showroom and design hub in the Republic.

A family-owned business, it employs around 90 people across three locations at Armagh, Belfast and Newry. The new facility will open in Dublin in the spring.
