Pogba to sit tight.. until June

- BY DAVID MCDONNELL

PAUL POGBA has reluctantly accepted that he will not be allowed to leave Manchester United in January.

United’s club-record £89million signing has been agitating for a move for more than a year after becoming disillusioned with life at Old Trafford.

But the France World Cup winner’s agent, Mino Raiola, conceded he will not be able to get his most highprofile client the move he craves when the transfer window reopens tomorrow.

“Paul has always respected Manchester United just as Manchester United has also always respected Paul,” he said.

“The only one that talks for Manchester United and for Paul is the manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, because he comments in the paper and in the press.

“I go by what Ole says. Paul will not move and that is OK. So if Ole has ideas about my player and he wants to talk to me about it, he knows my number.

“Until that moment, I talk with chief executive Ed Woodward, because that’s the person that I talk to at the club. I never spoke with Ole. I only know that Paul respects him, loves him for what he has done in the past with him.”

Pogba’s deal runs until 2021. Although he will stay for the rest of this season, he is likely to push for a summer move, with Real Madrid leading the chase.

The 26-year-old midfield star has just returned from a three-month injury lay-off, making a couple of substitute appearances.

Pogba sat out Saturday’s win at Burnley, although Solskjaer hopes to have him back for tomorrow night’s clash at Arsenal.
