FORMER GERS STAR CAULED IT ALL WRONG

- BY MICHAEL GANNON BY KEITH JACKSON

CHRISTOPHER JULLIEN insists the Celtic squad will shrug off the snipers trying to take the shine off Nine-ina-row.

The Hoops ace has heard former Rangers defender Gareth Mcauley called the win a “tainted title”.

But Jullian laughed off the claims and said: “We were 13 points clear and it’s clear that we were the best team in the league.

“When the season has to end like this, then you are always going to get people speaking against it. It’s a title I’m proud of.

“I will get my medal, I have won the trophy for Celtic and that is perfect. If people want to talk it down, I will just ignore it. It’s always going to be like that.

“To win the league and cup in my first season at Celtic was huge. We showed everyone that we deserved it.

“I’m really happy right now and I felt very moved when the trophy was delivered to my house. It was huge for me to win my first league championship.”

Jullien reckons the triumph even trumps his under-20 World Cup glory with France in 2013.

He said: “Winning the World Cup brings me huge memories. I played with an unbelievable squad and our team was just the best. But to be part of a historic title like this is way bigger than the World Cup.”

SCOTTISH football will today ask parliament to sanction a return to training for top flight clubs - with a potential restart date pencilled in for June 15.

SFA chief executive Ian Maxwell (above) and his SPFL counterpart Neil Doncaster will hold a conference call with the Scottish minister for public health, sport and wellbeing Joe Fitzpatrick and national clinical director Jason Leitch this afternoon.

And they will push for permission to bring Premiership players out of lockdown as soon as possible, perhaps as soon as a fortnight on Monday.
