25 troops die in India-china border clash

TWENTY Indian and five Chinese soldiers have been killed in a border skirmish in Kashmir.

The Indian troops were reportedly beaten to death and a number of Indian soldiers remain missing.

They are the first deaths in a disputed border region clash between the nuclear powers in over 40 years.

Officials met yesterday to try to defuse the situation and confirmed no shots had been fired.

China accuses Indian forces of crossing the border, sparking a mass punch-up in Ladakh.
