Man beaten with baseball bats in alley

A MAN was left to crawl for help after he was assaulted in an alleyway.

The incident occurred near Churchill Road in Larne, Co Antrim, at around 9.25pm on Monday.

Police said the victim, who is in his 20s, was set upon by three masked men with baseball bats who were wearing dark clothing.

He suffered injuries to his ankles and arm and was taken to hospital.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “This was a vicious beating.

“There is absolutely no justification for this type of savage attack. We are working to establish a motive.”
