COPS ALERT AS BOY TRAPPED IN CAR BOOT WHILE PLAYING

- BY ADAM ASPINALL

A MISSING boy of four sparked a police hunt and terrified his parents – by getting trapped in the family car’s boot.

Mischievous Vinnie Devlin – found unconscious in sweltering heat – had climbed in to play via a back seat after opening a door.

He was rescued after 40 minutes, having escaped the house by a locked gate which was loose.

Mum Gemma and dad Ryan, 37, had thought he was playing upstairs with sister Dakota, two. Gemma, 29, said: “He wasn’t there and I ran outside in hysterics.”

She checked the Audi A4, just 5ft from her gate in the village of Kingsnorth, Kent. “I yelled for him but he’d passed out,” said Gemma.

Green-fingered Glenn Tabor likes everything trim and proper.

The joiner, 63, started sculpting his 20ft hedge – featuring a Native American in a canoe – in 1990.

And after a weekly tidy up in Horsforth, Leeds, it looks a shear delight today...

As 30 locals joined in the search, Vinnie was found and revived after a neighbour heard rustling.

Gemma said: “He doesn’t realise what he has put us through.”
