EU trade deal deadline rap

HOPES of striking a Brexit trade deal by the end of July have been blasted by pro-eu campaigners.

Cabinet Office Minister Michael Gove said there is “no intrinsic reason” why a deal cannot be sealed with Brussels in six weeks.

But anti-brexit Best for Britain boss Naomi Smith called the deadline “woefully unrealistic”.

The Government has ruled out extending the 11-month transition for leaving the EU that runs out on December 31.
