LET’S GET THIS PARTY RESTARTED

After days, the Premier League is back at last.. but not quite as we remembered it 1. NO FANS IN STADIUMS 2. TEAMS EMERGING SEPARATELY FROM THE TUNNEL

- BY FREDDIE KEIGHLEY

WE’VE had 100 days without the joys and anguish of Premier League football – but tonight it all kicks off again.

The players’ voices will echo around nearempty stadiums, but the fans won’t mind – it’s back and it’s live and that’s what counts!

Aston Villa were the last team to kick a ball in anger on March 9 and will be first up tonight, hoping for a better result against Sheffield United than that 4-0 battering at Leicester.

And even though they will soon relinquish their title, Manchester City will be keen not to hand it on a plate to Liverpool. A win against Arsenal tonight will make the Reds wait until next Wednesday at the earliest to become champions, rather than this weekend.

Fans tuning into the games can expect to see a number of differences to matches in light of Project Restart rules, and here is your guide to what has changed...

The most obvious change is that there will be no fans at the matches and therefore no crowd noise picked up on television. However, clubs can use pre-recorded terrace songs for goal celebrations and substitutions, while Sky will offer an option of crowd noise on all 64 of its televised games.

To adhere to social distancing guidelines, teams will emerge from separate tunnels at stadia where possible. At grounds with only one tunnel, such as the Etihad (being deep cleaned, left), the away team’s players will enter the pitch before the home team joins them.
