Tango set to waltz home

- BY NEIL RANDON

ANDREW BALDING has had a fine start to the campaign post-lockdown and

(1,50) can add the Group 3 Hampton Court Stakes to his tally.

The three-year-old has improved with every run, culminating in a Unibet Classic

Trial Stakes win at Kempton two weeks ago.

There he beat Pyledriver, yesterday’s impressive King Edward VII Stakes scorer.

(3.00) should have the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at his mercy.

A horse of the highest class, he won the King Edward VII Stakes here last year and followed up with Group 1 wins in the Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp and the

Juddmonte at York.

(3.35) catches the eye in a wideopen Royal Hunt Cup. Trained by Mark Johnston (below), the five-year-old gelding finished seventh in the race last year behind Afaak in a tight finish, and a month later won the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket. He was placed in two more valuable handicaps at Goodwood and York, and chased home Marie’s Diamond and Lord Tennyson in a Listed event at Newmarket two weeks ago. 1.50 Royal Ascot 3.00 Royal Ascot 3.35 Royal Ascot
