Stepping up should suit Simsir
THE Michael Halfordtrained Simsir might prove the answer in the listed Martin Molony Stakes, feature of this evening’s action in Limerick. Winner of a Cork maiden on his belated debut in September, he followed-up at Dundalk and proved his rate of progress in three runs in Meydan over the winter. The Zoffany gelding landed a handicap at Meydan in March – off a mark 101 – and back on home soil is expected to produce further improvement as he steps up to a mile and a half here. Pondus joined Joseph O’brien from James Fanshawe’s, boasts solid group-race form and is the highest-rated in the five-runner field. But I’ll stick with Simsir.
