Henderson and Maxol in £425m deal

TWO of Northern Ireland’s most well-known family companies have shaken hand s on a £425million deal which will see their fuel and food alliance continue for the next five years.

Fore c our t ret ai l er Maxol and Henderson Group – which owns the SPAR franchise in Northern Ireland – have been working together since 2009 in what both describe as a beneficial relationsh­ip.

Under the terms of the new deal, Maxol will supply fuel under the Maxol brand to 30 Henderson Group-owned service stations over the lifetime of the contract.

Meanwhile, Henderson Group will continue to supply 24 Maxol service stations under the SPAR brand over five years.

Maxol said it will also introduce SPAR dailydeli at six new sites by the

end of April 2021, including Glenabbey, Townparks in Antrim, Eglinton, Scarva Road in Banbridge, Portrush and Saintfield.

It will also invest in Henderson’s on-the-go coffee brand with new Barista Bar coffee equipment installed at each of their 24 company-owned sites.
