Foxes have been lightning-fast off the grid, but boss Brendan’s job is to ensure the wheels don’t come off

LEICESTER LEICES might be qu quick off the starting start grid but boss bos Brendan Rodgers R wa w n t s to make m sure the t wheels do not come off.

His fantastic Foxe s h av e s e t a blistering early pa pace with three successive wins to sit at the top of the Premieprem­ier Premier Lea League.

And they have ha done it in some style – thrashing Mannche Manchester City 5-2 in their own stadium oon on Su Sunday.

Bu But Rodgers is refu refusing to get carri carried away as he pprep prepares for the vvisit visit o of West Ham toomor tomorrow.

“Com “Come back to me when there are three games to go and maybe I would be a tad more excited,” he said. “It’s very, very early days.

“We couldn’t have started any better. It’s been great but there’s a hell of a l ong way to go. Beating City like that was great, but we move on quickly.”

It is all good news right now, L e i c e st e r c o mpl e t i n g the £30mi l lion-plus signing of defender Wesley Fofana (left) from French club St Etienne.

Rodgers and his backroom team moved quickly to tie up a deal for the 19-year-old, who has signed a five-year-contract.

Rodgers said: “He’s young with limited experience as such, but when you see him play you wouldn’t know that. He’s very aggressive, super quick and he’s good i n the air. He has a fantastic leap.

“We’ve been aware of him for some time but it shows you have to act quickly because there were a number of clubs all across Europe wanting to take him.”

Rodgers accepts trying to sign young talent and develop it is the market he operates in. He added: “We know we can’t sign £80m to £90m players, so we look at players who you could consider no risk.”

Leicester hope Harvey Barnes can use his first call-up to an England squad as an incentive to torment the Hammers.

Rodgers said: “His confidence is improving all the time. There’s not a game goes by when he doesn’t get opportunit­ies. He could score double figures this season because he causes teams problems. I ’m delighted he’s been called up.”
