POCH IS WAITING

-

loss to Arsenal last Sunday has left them in 15th place. And ex-manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov (below) believes they should go for the former Tottenham boss.

Betfair Ambassador Berbatov said: “If there’s truth to the Mauricio Pochettino rumours, it’s hard to blame United really. “When the team plays bad, the buck stops with the boss.

“I saw him recently as a guest commentator, and he said he is ready to work again, so it’s hard to stop t those rumours.

“The one thing that won’t change, however, are the players. A new boss won’t change how they play.

“Yes, when you have a new manager you can see a bounce, but overall the attitude remains the same. No aggression, no passion, no holding each other to account. Everton on Saturday now is a huge game for United, and I think if they lose this, it’s probably the point where they look for a new manager.”

Another defeat at Goodison Park could drop United to 17th and leave executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward with little choice but to review Solskjaer’s position during the international break.

Mirror Sport exclusively revealed last month how they had sounded out Pochettino about him replacing Solskjaer.

The Argentine is keen to make United his next job as he looks to get back into management following his sacking by Tottenham almost a year ago.

It is understood Pochettino has told the Reds he is not prepared to wait for ever and that he is also interested in taking charge of

Paris Saint-germain should the French champions decide to sack Thomas Tuchel.
