-

national teams because of Covid-19 restrictions. And with Inter included on the list of affected clubs, Skriniar (above) looks set to miss Thursday night’s Euro play-off final at Windsor Park.

The Slovakian Football Federation hadn’t received official confirmation early last night but it is understood players at Inter, Fiorentina, Roma, Sassuolo, Lazio and Genoa are banned from travelling as each club has at least one positive player.

Skriniar, 25, also sat out last month’s penalty shootout win over the Republic of Ireland after testing positive for Covid-19.

Meanwhile, Leicester City’s Jonny Evans (right) has given Ian Baraclough g a minor injury sweat after taking a painful ul knock to the back in yesterday’s Premier League win over Wolves.

Evans, who has been troubled by a back problem in recent cent weeks, was left grimacing after an aerial collision with Fabio Silva 10 minutes from time.

The 32-year-old centre-back played on but took time to recover and looked in discomfort in the dying embers of the Foxes’ 1-0 victory.

The 87-times capped defender is a vital part of Northern Ireland’s plans and any enforced absence would be a major blow for such a key game.

One Evans definitely out of Thursday’s shootout for the Euros is Jonny’s younger brother Corry who damaged his hamstring at the weekend.

The Blackburn Rovers midfielder was withdrawn from the national squad after pulling up five minutes into Saturday’s

3-1 win over QPR. Rovers boss Tony Mowbray said: “He’s upset because he has a massive game for Northern Ireland but he obviously can’t go because it doesn’t look a minor injury.”

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard reported Steven Davis “fully fit” despite the Northern Ireland captain not featuring in the 8-0 win over Hamilton at Ibrox.
