DAVE MURPHY

JOHN COONEY shone again as Jacob Stockdale made his comeback in Ulster’s three-try win over Ospreys.

Cooney and John Andrew scored for Ulster, while a penalty try gave them the key Conference A victory, but there was no bonus-point win for Dan Mcfarland’s side.

Ulster got off to the worst possible start last night when Rhys Webb charged down Ian Madigan’s kick and

Keelan Giles gathered the loose ball to score. Just before half-time they got themselves back in the game.

Nick Timoney was the architect with a break out of his own 22, while Cooney applied the finish, and converted to leave it 7-7 at the interval.

After a year out injured Robert Baloucoune replaced Stockdale at half time, and Ulster looked brighter on the resumption, with Andrew mauling over and Cooney converting to make it 14-7.

Dan Evans was then sin binned and Ulster were awarded a penalty try for a deliberate knock-on.
