RORY DONNELLY (inset) hit a priceless winner at Stangmore Park to keep Mick Mcdermott’s Glentoran on winning track.

The former Cliftonvil­le man struck just before half-time which was enough to earn the east Belfast side their fourth successive victory.

“It was always a banana skin for us after our win over Linfield on Tuesday,” said Mcdermott. “This is a difficult venue, we lost 3-1 here last season.

“This win pleased me every bit a much as Tuesday’s result. For me, this was a harder game to win.”

Caretake boss Dixie Robinson admitted his youthful Swifts’ side did him proud.

“I thought the lads put in a top-class performanc­e from a really young group of players,” he said.
