£24m throne at new Game tour
TV fans thrilled as tickets launched for ‘world-class’ official GOT set experience
GAME Of Thrones is officially back – as an “incredible” £24million Ulster studio tour.
Sited at one of the original filming locations at Linen Mill Studios in Banbridge, Co Down, the experience will take fans deep into the heart of Westeros.
Winter is coming and the tour is set to open to the public on February 4 next year – with tickets on sale since yesterday.
The 110,000sq ft interactive set-up will allow fans to explore a massive array of original costumes – such as Daenerys Targaryen’s famous white fur coat – and set pieces.
Visitors can step inside the iconic Great Hall at Winterfell where Jon Snow was proclaimed King in the North and see Daenerys’ Dragonstone throne.
The props, lethal weaponry and visual effects behind Game Of Thrones will also be on display and fans can learn about the craftmanship that helped bring the show to life.
Peter van Roden of Warner Bros Themed Entertainment said: “Knowing you are in the very same spot where some of the series’ most memorable moments were filmed is an incredible feeling.
“We know fans of the franchise will feel the same when they see the rich detail in the sets, costumes and props up close and personal.”
Andrew Webb and David Browne of Linen Mill Studios added: “We are thrilled to confirm February 4, 2022, as the opening date of Game Of Thrones Studio Tour at Linen Mill Studios – and to officially launch global ticket sales.
“After many years as a closed film studio, it is time for fans from across the world to step inside the Seven Kingdoms and make their own personal journey through the world of Westeros at Linen Mill Studios.”
Tourism NI chief John Mcgrillen said: “It will be a world-class facility as the only permanent licensed Game Of Thrones Studio Tour experience in the world.”
