PUPILS locked in their class watch the door in fear as a gunman who killed four teens in a shooting rampage tries to trick them into leaving.

The shooter, armed with a semi-automatic handgun, pretended to be a police officer, shouting: “Sheriff ’s office. You can come out.”

In the footage from inside the classroom, one of the students says: “He said it’s safe to come out.”

But their teacher says:

“We’re not taking that risk.”

The shooter then shouts back something inaudible before calling a student

“bro”, giving himself away.

Ethan Crumbley, 15, was last night charged with one count of terrorism, four of first-degree murder, and seven counts of assault with intent to murder. Six pupils were injured, three critically, along with a teacher.

An arrest was made in the hallway of Oxford High School in Oxford, a suburb of Detroit, Michigan, by armed police who arrived within minutes of the first 911 call at 12.50pm on Tuesday. Police found a 9mm Sig Sauer semi-automatic handgun, which had allegedly been bought by the shooter’s dad on Friday.

Officers said at least 12 rounds had been fired. The victims were 16-year-old Tate Myre, a “standout” American football player, who was shot while trying to disarm the gunman and died in a police car on the way to the hospital.

Hana St. Juliana, 14 and Madisyn Baldwin, 17, also died on Tuesday, while Justin Shilling, 17, died in hospital at around 10am yesterday.

Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard yesterday gave details of the pupils critically injured in the attack.

They included a boy, 14, who was shot in the head and was in a serious condition, a girl of 14, who was on a ventilator fighting for her life with chest wounds, and a girl of 17, in a critical condition with chest wounds. The teacher, 47, was grazed by a bullet.

Sheriff Bouchard said: “This kind of thing can happen anywhere and sadly it happened even in a sweet quiet community like Oxford.”
