MOTORCYCLE LIVE IS BACK IN THE SADDLE
After a break due to the pandemic, the UK’S biggest bike show is back with a bang and ready to ride.
Motorcycle Live returns to its home at the NEC in Birmingham, starting on Saturday and running all the way through until Sunday, December 12.
Four exhibition halls will be packed with all the latest machinery from no less than 55 manufacturers, with opportunities to ride and plenty of quality entertainment laid on.
Leading manufacturers showing off their 2022 models include BMW, Ducati, Harley-davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Royal Enfield, Suzuki and Triumph.
A number of bikes will be revealed to the world and British public for the first time at this year’s show, and there are opportunities to get on and ride in the Test Ride Zone.
As well as the traditional manufacturers, there will, of course, be a wide range of electric bikes and scooters to look at and, again, the opportunity to ride various models.
Supported by Honda, Royal Enfield and Triumph, the Experience Adventure feature offers visitors the opportunity to get a taste of off-road riding across varied terrain and obstacles under the supervision of instructors.
Protective gear is provided by Bell Helmets and
RST, and the experience is free.
One of the most popular features is always the Classic and Custom Zone, which returns this year. Within it, the National Motorcycle Museum will present IOM TT winning bikes from 1903 right through to the present. These will include a 1907 Norton Twin, a 1913 Scott 500cc TT Racer and a 1921 500cc BSA.
The Custom Heroes section showcases the finest custom motorcycles, including the winners of this year’s Back Street Heroes Custom Bike Championship.
Saturday, December 11 is British Superbikes Day, with a range of activities and guests on hand including 2021 BSB champ Tarran Mackenzie, plus Bradley Ray, Christian Iddon, Luke Mossey, Tommy Hill and more.
Other features include the 30-year anniversary celebration of the iconic Honda Fireblade and Suzuki’s showcase of all seven of its World Championshipwinning machines, with last year’s GSX-RR ridden by Joan Mir and Barry Sheene’s 1976 and ’77 500s.
There’s also the Moto Trials Experience, the Kiddimoto Balance Bike Experience, the Youth MX Experience and a huge list of motorcycling celebrities who will be in attendance each day.
