A PREDATORY attacker has admitted murdering primary school teacher Sabina Nessa in a park.

Koci Selamaj, 36, drove to London from his home on the south coast to target any lone female.

The Albanian garage worker spotted Sabina, 28, as she went to meet a friend after school. CCTV showed him battering her 34 times with a metal traffic triangle before carrying her away unconscious. He then strangled her in undergrowth in a suspected sex attack. Prosecutor Alison Morgan told the Old Bailey the murder involved a sexual or sadistic element. Selamaj had removed Sabina’s underwear and exposed parts of her body. Shortly before the murder his wife had left him after he twice put his hands around her throat.

The body of Sabina, who taught at Rushey Green School in Catford, South East London, was found three-and-ahalf miles away in Cator Park, Kidbrooke.

Selamaj was arrested in Eastbourne, East Sussex, on September 26, nine days after the killing. He admitted murder and will be sentenced in April.

The killer was born in an industrial town 45 minutes from Albania’s capital Tirana and lived there until he was 12.

Mimoza Oktisi, a teacher at his old school, said: “We feel heartbroken for the teacher because we consider her one of our colleagues. And to think the person who did it was one of our own. It’s appalling and hard to digest.”

Speaking outside court, Sabina’s sister Jebina Islam wept as she said: “There are no words to describe the pain we are going through and the pain he caused.”
