Senior MP’S appeal for devolution

THE best support politicians could give to businesses is to restore Stormont, a senior MP said yesterday.

Tory Simon Hoare, below, who chairs the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee said: “Given so much policy that affects and benefits businesses is devolved, isn’t the best support politicians of all stripes could give business is to get Stormont back up and running?” Secretary of State Brandon Lewis replied: “It is important to see all the ministers back with their full powers.

“We have the caretaker ministers now in place but being able to see Stormont making those spending decisions, getting money out the door, supporting businesses, I think is the right thing to do, yes.”
