Last orders extended at plush hotel
AN upmarket Northern Ireland hotel has been granted an extension to its licence to provide entertainment at all its indoor venues until 3am.
Belfast City Council ’s Licensing Committee approved the extended hours at the Merchant Hotel in Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter.
New legislation introduced last October allowed pubs and hotels across Northern Ireland to apply to serve drinks until 2am up to 104 nights per year, and to extend drinking-up time at venues from 30 minutes to an hour.
The Merchant’s extended hours will apply to all its indoor bars and nightclubs but will not cover its outdoor bar area.
