Soldier, 26, dies on Army exercise
A SOLDIER has been killed during a routine training exercise after a collision involving a Warrior tracked armoured fighting vehicle.
The 26-year-old man died after sustaining significant head injuries while taking part alongside other forces in the 5th Battalion The Rifles.
Wiltshire Police say emergency services were called to a military area of Salisbury Plain, near Tidworth, on Tuesday morning.
The force added: “Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this difficult time.”
An investigation is being led by the police alongside the Army and the Health and Safety Executive.
Private Jethro Watson-pickering, 23, of 1st Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment died in October in an armoured vehicle incident during training near Enford, Wilts.
