Airport drop cars misused and damaged

- BY PAUL BYRNE

AIR TRAVELLERS have had their cars stolen, damaged or driven around after using airport meetand-greet firms.

One owner told police their bonnet had vanished and another said their vehicle had clocked more than 3,000 miles while they were away.

In just one month, 150 motorists using firms near Manchester Airport returned to find their car keys were missing.

Insp Andrew Baker said: “While many of these businesses are not illegal, some of the activity taking part on their sites is and the services they are providing are questionable.”

Two people were arrested this week in a crackdown on the firms.
