Men jailed for ‘well-planned’ shop robbery
TWO men were jailed yesterday for their roles in the “well-planned and executed robbery” of a newsagents.
John Joseph Little, 49, from Riverdale House in Dunmurry, was handed a six-year sentence in Belfast Crown Court for the incident on June 3, 2019.
He entered the shop in in King’s Square, Gilnahirk, East Belfast, and locked a female assistant in a vault before stealing £18,000 worth of cigarettes.
Mark Dobbin, from Radnor Street in Belfast, acted as a getaway driver and was sentenced to five years and two months.
Both men appeared before Judge Richard Greene QC, who divided the terms between prison and supervised licence.
