Integrated education plans afoot
THE Government is working on plans to promote integrated education in Northern Ireland.
Secretary of State Brandon Lewis said the programme will “promote its benefits” and support schools thinking of changing their status.
He added: “This will help promote the benefits to parents, teachers and pupils, and support schools considering the transformation process.”
Alliance MLA Kellie Armstrong, who secured laws to promote the sector, welcomed the plans but said Stormont must act.
She added: “The only sustainable way forward for integrated education is for the Department of Education to embrace and promote it locally.”
