Trio arrested on Amir Khan gun mugging
THREE men have been arrested after ex-world champion boxer Amir Khan was robbed at gunpoint for his £70,000 watch.
The 35-year-old was with his wife in Leyton, East London, in April when two men threatened him with a gun then stole his Franck Muller watch.
Scotland Yard said three men, aged 20, 25 and 34, were arrested on suspicion of robbery yesterday.
The younger two also face charges of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. The 20-year-old faces another of possession of ammunition.
Det Sgt Lee Warrington said: “These arrests demonstrate our commitment to taking those intent on using violence, or the threat of violence, off of our streets.”
