Rory blast at rebel Koepka
RORY MCILROY slammed stars who have signed for the LIV Golf Series as “duplicitious”.
Four-time Major winner Brooks Koepka was confirmed as the latest big-name rebel as US Tour chiefs announced increased prize money of £44million in eight events next season in response to the Saudi-backed league.
And the DP World Tour will today announce any action – if any – against members who played in the first event at the Centurion Club in
Hertfordshire. World No.2 Mcilroy (top), who is on the PGA tour’s player advisory council, admitted he was shocked by Koepka’s decision and said: “Yes, because of what he said previously.
“I don’t understand and I’m surprised. It’s pretty duplicitous on their part to say one thing and then do another thing. In public and in private.”
R&A chief Martin Slumbers yesterday confirmed all LIV players will be able to play in next month’s 150th Open at St Andrews.
