Forest’s record £17.5m for Awoniyi

NOTTINGHAM FOREST are closing in on a club record £17.5million deal for Union Berlin striker Taiwo Awoniyi.

Nigerian Awoniyi (left), who netted 15 times in the Bundesliga last season after joining from Liverpool last year, will undergo a medical at Forest.

Steve Cooper’s Premier League new boys are also in line to take England keeper Dean Henderson on loan from Manchester United.

But Mainz have slammed Forest’s opening offer for centre-back Moussa Niakhate – while Liverpool and Wales full-back Neco Williams, another target, is also being eyed by fellow promoted club Fulham in a £10m tug-of-war.
