Kyril says Cats will get cream
PROMOTED Sunderland boss Alex Neil could now be handed the funds to make a serious impact in the Championship.
Swiss heir Kyril Louis-dreyfus, 25, became the Black Cats majority shareholder in a move strengthening their ability to buy players for a tilt at the Premier League.
Louis-dreyfus (above) increased his stake to 51 percent with Uruguayan businessman Juan Sartori up to 30 percent, meaning investment will be easier to secure.
Sunderland are closing in on a deal with Manchester City to keep talented winger Patrick Roberts, 25, by exercising an option to extend the short-term deal he penned in January which helped the
Wearsiders win promotion.
Louis-dreyfus said: “Today marks an important step as we continue to rebuild Sunderland AFC.
“Our ownership group has been consolidated and there will be no further sale of shares to a thirdparty buyer.
“We remain committed to our strategy of delivering long-term success and sustainability.
“And together, alongside our dedicated staff and loyal supporters, I believe we can now move forward as one unified football club.”
