KFC sorry for Nazis’ terror burger push
KFC has apologised for an online alert urging people to order food to commemorate the 84th anniversary of Kristallnacht.
The fried chicken chain faced an outcry after app users in Germany received the automated message.
It said: “Memorial day for the Reich pogrom night. Treat yourself to more tender cheese on your crispy chicken.”
KFC Germany said the alert was an “unplanned, insensitive and unacceptable message, and for this we sincerely apologise”.
Nazis terrorised Jewish people in Germany and Austria on Kristallnacht the Night of Broken Glass – on November 9, 1938, killing at least 91.
