Mooy: My Glasgow move best

3pm

- Celtic Ross County FRASER WILSON

AARON MOOY insists joining Celtic has been the greatest move of his career after going from a public park to the World Cup in just a few months.

The former Brighton, Huddersfield, Manchester City and St Mirren midfielder was included in Graham Arnold’s Australia squad earlier this week.

Having spent the summer training alone after leaving Shanghai Port he is now preparing to play in front of millions of TV viewers at football’s greatest show on earth.

He said: “It was a hugely proud moment for me to get the call-up for the

World Cup. It’s something you dream of when you’re a child and when you start playing football.

“It was a tough time when I was training in a local park in the summer. But then I joined Celtic and I’m loving it here and I’m going to the World Cup. It’s fair to say Celtic is one of the best moves I’ve ever made.”

The Socceroos kick off their World Cup bid against holders France a week on Tuesday.

Before then though Mooy will line up against Ross County this afternoon looking to sign off from domestic duty by keeping the Hoops’ seven-point advantage at the top in tact.

He said: “It’s an exciting prospect to play France but we have a game against Ross County and that is all I am thinking about right now. When I was playing at Motherwell in midweek I wasn’t thinking about the World Cup.”

Meanwhile, Sead Haksabanovic won’t be joining up with Montenegro for their friendlies against Slovenia and Slovakia next week despite being included in Miodrag Radulovic’s squad.

Ange Postecoglou has shut down hopes Radulovic had of utilising the on-form winger (inset) and insisted he will be on the plane to Australia with Celtic.
