Fulham boss Marco Silva (above) has denied reports in Serbia that his talismanic striker has broken two bones in his foot.

But ahead of talks between Fulham and Serbia next week, the Portuguese said the hitman’s World Cup was in doubt. “We have to wait and decide between our medical staff and the medical staff of Serbia,” said Silva.

The crunch will come if Fulham decide Mitrovic, who has scored nine of their 23 goals this season, is not fit for Qatar but the stiker insists on playing for his country.

“Mitro wants to play in the World Cup,” Silva added, pointedly.
