SUPPORTER SILVA LINING UP RONALDO DEFENCE
MARCO SILVA will support Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal at the World Cup.
But tomorrow the Fulham boss and his defensive midfield compatriot Joao Palhinha (right) must stop the Manchester United star as well as fellow Portuguese Bruno Fernandes and
Diogo Dalot in the last Premier League match before the tournament.
Silva (left) said:
“We have so many good players in the national team. Of course I will be supporting them and my friend Fernando Santos the manager. It will be an important moment for Portugal.
“For Joao it will be his second big international competition and it will be a big moment for him. We can do well but you are playing against the best national teams in the world.”
The Cottagers in ninth start the match only four points behind fifth-placed United.
Silva said: “They haven’t been consistent like they would like to be. We know their strengths and weaknesses.”
