Football fans desperate to know score

- BY GRANT BAILEY

ONE in five football fans have checked match scores during work meetings, a poll has revealed.

Fear of Missing Scores – FOMS – has also driven fans to check their phones while on the loo, at the doctors or helping the kids with their homework.

One fan admitted to being dragged out of his car, where he was hiding trying to check the scores during his own wedding.

The poll for Livescore found 20% of fans will stream World Cup matches on phones during work, and 11% will take a sickie to watch matches.

Ric Leask, of Livescore, said: “The beautiful game is a pure passion.”

Top 5 places where scores checked: 1. As a car passenger; 2. At work; 3. Supermarket; 4. On the toilet; 5. At a family meal.
