Cop’s murder attempt rap

A POLICE officer will appear in court today charged with attempted murder after a woman was taken to hospital.

Police were called to a report of concern for the welfare of a woman at a Manchester hotel at about 11.30pm on Thursday.

The woman was taken to hospital, where she remained in a stable condition yesterday.

James Riley, 27, a Lancashire Constabulary officer, will appear at Manchester crown court today.
