Bautista takes title

ALVARO BAUTISTA was crowned 2022 World Superbike champion in Indonesia as he crossed the line second behind outgoing champ Toprak Razgatlioglu.

Spain’s Bautista (right) sealed the deal as his Turkish rival took a hat-trick of wins at Mandalika, giving the factory Aruba Ducati squad its first title since 2011.

“It’s incredible. Here we are, it’s a dream come true,” said Bautista.

“I have won against rivals like Toprak and Johnny

Rea, who set the bar high. Now it is time to celebrate.”
